Monday Recall Roundup: December 6, 2010

Each Monday, Edmunds takes a look at the most recent recalls published by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). NHTSA's recall coverage is extensive, addressing everything from tractor trailers to motor homes. We pore over this coverage and whittle it down, spotlighting only those recalls that are of pressing concern to owners of passenger cars and trucks.

The most recent news concerns Volvo's recall of the 2010-2011 XC60 and the 2009-2011 V50, S40 and S60 for a defect regarding the power front passenger seat. The seat's rail detection system was manufactured incorrectly in a way that could allow the passenger to bring the seat forward beyond its intended maximum. Positioning the seat beyond its intended maximum could cause increased risk of injury in the event of a crash. More details regarding all the latest recalls follow after the jump.
