Ford has launched a new website aimed at educating consumers about hybrids, plug-in hybrids and electric vehicles. The site offers informative videos, diagrams and bullet points highlighting the strengths of each engine configuration. "We know consumers are excited about the variety of electrified vehicles coming to market over the next two years, but we have heard many of them say they don't truly understand the differences between these options," Nancy Gioia, Ford's director of global electrification, said in a press release. "Educating consumers on electrified vehicle options will be crucial to satisfying their needs as they decide whether to buy a hybrid, plug-in hybrid or pure battery electric car."
With the website, Ford is laying some groundwork for its upcoming electric vehicles. Ford will release an all-electric Transit Connect van this year. A Focus electric car is coming in 2011. 2012 will bring two hybrids powered by next-generation lithium ion batteries. Also in 2012 is a plug-in hybrid. Visitors to the site will also find a list of Ford's currently available hybrids and a link to Ford's incentives page.
