General Motors officially introduced the 2012 Buick Regal GS -- first seen in concept form at the 2010 Detroit show -- in Miami on Thursday, and said the svelte performance sedan will go on sale in the second half of 2011. The 2012 Regal GS gets a turbocharged 2.0-liter Ecotec four-cylinder engine, coupled with a six-speed manual transmission and delivering 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. Pricing has yet to be set.
A feature called the Interactive Drive Control System will enable drivers to select from three suspension/steering settings: standard, sport and GS. Other equipment includes four-wheel disc brakes with Brembo front calipers, 19-inch alloy wheels, 12-way power leather front seats, a flat-bottom steering wheel and metal pedals and trimmed in satin-finish accents. The Regal GS gets unique front and rear fascias, including a specific grille and additional air intakes, plus rocker-panel extensions and an integrated rear spoiler.
