Daylight saving time ends at 2 a.m. Sunday, and when you're turning back your clocks, keep in mind that the time shift can affect driving safety, according to the Automobile Club of Southern California. "The evening commute will be darker so drivers can expect reduced visibility," said Anita Lorz of the Auto Club's traffic safety department.
She cautions that teen drivers who aren't as experienced with nighttime driving and motorists with vision issues may need to be especially careful. The time change also can disturb sleep patterns, and in combination with earlier sunsets, there's a risk of more drowsy drivers, Lorz said. More tips for time-change safety are after the jump.
