The famed sportscar manufacturer from Stuttgart is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its in-house customizing division, known as Porsche Exclusive. Begun in 1985, Exclusive was set up to let Porsche buyers add a personal touch to their new car. Everything from custom paint colors to interior leathers dyed to your favorite shade, the Exclusive division will try to accommodate any customer request, with the only prerequisite being that it's technically feasible while maintaining Porsche's quality standards.
With the division now numbering 100 staffers, it's recently been able to apply its skills to entire models, including the upcoming Porsche 911 Speedster and 911 Sport Classic (above), limited edition models pre-customized by the Exclusive folk. Most pertinent to consumers shopping for a Porsche is the Exclusive catalog available at Porsche dealerships, which lets you peruse the options for each of the models in the Porsche lineup. Porsche will commemorate the Exclusive division with a new book in March, coinciding with a display at the Porsche Museum from March until May 2011.
